I like the product but it does not have instuctions on the Unit and the way it operates for different applications requires that you keep the book handy to refer too.

What a great little thing to have! You have to remember that this is not like going to a gas station. . . . It takes a little while for it to pump-up a tire. . .but it works! Not only is it great for tires, but it’s also great for beach toys. . . air mattress. . . bikes. . . etc. etc. etc. It’s light. . . compact. . . . What’s not to like?

My problem: How to inflate the garden cart tires with something more effective than the bicycle pump AND how to inflate the car tires without having to do the 3 minute jig at the gas station trying to get all 4 tires inflated before the air pump cuts off. Consequently, all the tires in this household were running a little flat. Solution: I bought this device this week. Per the instructions, I plugged the unit in to charge up last night. I decided to try inflating the garden cart tires first. The built-in gauge told me the cart’s tires were at 5 PSI! But now they are at a plump 30 PSI. Moving along to the 2 cars, I topped up all the tires (including the spares) and the Air Station’s battery is still fully-charged. I used it in the cordless mode, so nothing to report here about using the connection to the cigarette lighter. A little improvement in the instructions and in the interface would give it 5 stars, but that’s not necessary to get the job done. Very pleased with my purchase. I’m looking around to find something else that needs some air.

We have had the previous model of B&D’s inflator for two or three years and was pleased with its performance and price. We jumped on the opportunity to try out a cordless model for obvious reasons and for the most part, it has not disappointed us. The unit weights just over 5 lbs and is easy to carry, making it very portable. It has a light which would be useful if one needed to inflate a tire at night on the roadside or elsewhere. If not charged, the DC cord for the car is approximately 10 ft long, which is sufficient to reach all four tires on our SUV.
The unit can be used as a deflator or vaccum to remove air from inflatables, which can be a very handy feature. I’m not sure how long the batteries actually last, as we were not able to run it down while using it. There is some confusion about whether it can air up one completely flat tire or four completely flat tires in one charge; the current description says both. Based on our usage, I believe the charge would be sufficient for one completely flat tire.
The biggest con for us is the fact that you cannot use it when the batteries are depleted by plugging into a standard power receptacle as it only works from DC power or battery. We also wish the warranty was better than just one year and it was easier (faster) to disconnect from the vehicle tires. Overall, this unit is a step up from the previous model and we are glad to have it in our car for emergencies.
