It stores the information of the last 45 callers.

The phone has a phonebook directory that stores 20 names and numbers which can be dialed with the touch of a button. I'm Impressed, I'm Cheap, I'm Listening, I'm Happy!

After my home phone broke, I was looking for a cheap replacement. Like most households now are not using their home phones, I still keep a home phone just in case, and talk to the occasional telemarketer that get passed the Do Not Call list(j/k) Well I was looking for reliable, caller ID, high frequency that won't interfere with my wireless network, Back lit, and most importantly Cheap. I have purchased V-Tech before and had no problems. At first I was skeptical but I have come to give some cheaper brands a try. It is easy to set up. The buttons are nice and big, Caller ID back lighting is great, enough to see when it rings in the dark. It does not interfere with my wireless network which is important cause we have 4-6 computers/laptops connected. The sound is clear and crisp. You cannot go wrong with this phone and its price.
Love the little thing

My 15 year old Radio Shack cordless died so I got this one VTech CS5111 as a replacement. I also have 4 other cordless telephones in use throughout the home and external buildings. The Vtech is equal to or better than all of them. I found the audio normal and the phone comfortable to my ear. It is very simple to operate. I would certainly buy one again.
Perfect with Magic Jack!

This phone is perfect for me. I use magic jack as my home phone and forward calls to my cell when I'm out. Now I pay $10/month for both!

Anyway, back to the V-tech. Great sound, great caller ID. Totally comfortable to talk on for a long time. I can keep it on my shoulder just fine too. The directory and caller ID functions work great once you read the manual and figure it out; not the most obvious set of functions. The volume and clarity are great though; no static.

With magic jack the phone's caller ID works perfectly, you just have to make sure to plug the magic jack into a SELF POWERED usb hub (with a power cord) rather than straight into your computer, then the caller ID kicks in. Also you can use your computer speakers and microphone as the speaker-phone. (Also make sure the phone is set to touch tone or it won't dial out with magic jack.)

I like the fact that it doesn't pick up a call when I take it off the cradle. I am always looking at the caller ID before I answer and I don't want to be afraid to touch my phone while squinting down at it.

I also like the option of adding new handsets later.
Good Value

If you picked this phone it's because it's one of the few phones left that is still stand-alone without a lot of extra handsets, is up to date visually and specifications, by a name brand, and value priced. It met all of these requirements for me.
Great, inexpensive phone

Reviewer: James B. Fruin,
I don't ask for much from a phone except easy set-up, good sound quality, and durability. The V-Tech fits those categories very well and the price is incredibly low. I had this same phone for 5 years and the battery went. A new battery costs as much as the phone so I just got a new phone instead. Another thing I like is the shape of this phone. I looked at several phones in the $50-$100 range but they looked like cell phones. Apparently most people have tiny hands and fingers to press thos little buttons all cluttered together. If you can do without all the frills, this is the phone for you.
